Comprehensive refurbishment and modernisation of Portlaoise's landmark church — project management and design coordination.
Project Overview
AOCA provided project management and design coordination services for the comprehensive refurbishment and transformation of St. Peter & Paul's Church. The project involved extensive internal upgrades together with improvements to the front façade and external access routes, enhancing the functionality, accessibility and overall experience of the building.
The internal refurbishment included the installation of a state-of-the-art underfloor heating system, a stone carpet floor finish, relocation of the sanctuary, upgraded audio-visual systems, new camera installations, live internet connectivity, improved lighting, a refreshed internal colour scheme and refurbishment of the existing pews.
Completed between May 2008 and October 2009, the project successfully modernised the church facilities while respecting the character and importance of the existing building, creating a welcoming and adaptable space for the local community.
