South Dublin Equestrian Facility

Design & Build equestrian centre for South Dublin County Council — stables, arena and paddocks delivered within budget and programme.

Project Overview

AOCA delivered the Civil and Structural Engineering input for this Design & Build project in collaboration with JSD Construction on behalf of South Dublin County Council. Our role was to develop the architect's design proposals into a practical, buildable solution that could be delivered within the available budget and programme constraints.

The completed facility comprises a purpose-built stable block incorporating facilities for horse owners and handlers, together with a large tarmac surfaced yard, cast-in-situ reinforced concrete dungstead, jumping arena and a number of dedicated paddock areas. AOCA provided engineering solutions to ensure the development was functional, durable and suited to the operational requirements of the facility.

The project required careful coordination between the design team, contractor and client to successfully translate the initial concept into a fully operational equestrian centre. The completed facility provides a safe and modern environment for horses while offering a valuable community resource for local residents, particularly young people with a strong interest in equestrian activities.

AOCA was delighted to contribute to a project that delivers significant social and recreational benefits to the surrounding area and supports continued community engagement and development.
