Portlaoise Parish Centre
LAMA Awards finalist — full project management and design coordination from planning permission through to completion.
Project Overview
AOCA provided a full project management and design coordination service for the delivery of the Portlaoise Parish Centre, from securing planning permission through to completion. Our role included the preparation of detailed construction and interior design drawings, tender documentation, contractor appointment and overseeing the works throughout the construction phase.
The completed Centre has been highly successful in terms of both design and functionality, receiving recognition as a finalist in the LAMA Awards. The building features a distinctive sedum roof and shingle finish, carefully designed to complement and blend with the surrounding landscaped environment.
Internally, the Centre provides a welcoming and flexible community facility incorporating a reception and coffee area, meeting rooms, consultation rooms, offices, a religious shop and a first-floor meditation dome. High-quality finishes, including natural stone flooring, beech joinery and cherry inlay details, create a warm and contemporary setting that supports the wide range of activities hosted within the building.
Now open daily and in continuous use, Portlaoise Parish Centre has become an important community asset, successfully delivering the welcoming and inclusive environment envisioned at the outset of the project.
