SDCC Dodder Valley Pavilions

Design & Build sports pavilion for South Dublin County Council — bespoke foundations and SuDS drainage on challenging ground.

Project Overview

AOCA, in collaboration with JSD Contracting, delivered the civil and structural engineering design for a new sports pavilion on behalf of South Dublin County Council at Dodder Valley. Procured as a Design & Build project, the development provides modern changing and support facilities for the numerous sports teams using the adjacent playing pitches.

The project presented several engineering challenges, including poor ground conditions across part of the building footprint, requiring the design of a bespoke foundation solution to ensure long-term structural performance. AOCA also designed a sustainable stormwater drainage system incorporating attenuation swales adjacent to the site entrance and car park, providing an environmentally responsible drainage solution while meeting the project's performance requirements.

The completed pavilion delivers high-quality changing facilities with secure electronic access, providing a modern and efficient amenity for local sports clubs and the wider community.
