Portlaoise Retail Park

AOCA delivered the full civil and structural engineering design, supervision and certification for the Portlaoise Retail Park development. The project included a section of the Portlaoise Southern Orbital Route with two major roundabouts and required extensive coordination with Laois County Council, Inland Fisheries and other stakeholders.

Significant engineering challenges included a 4-metre retaining wall adjacent to the Triogue River, temporary river diversion works and oversized attenuation infrastructure. Extending to 11,748 sq m (126,450 sq ft), the completed development remains one of AOCA's flagship projects and is now a key transport and retail destination within Portlaoise.
