Pharmaceutical Building, Ireland
Building envelope investigation and remediation — resolving water ingress at a newly completed pharmaceutical facility.
Project Overview
AOCA was appointed to investigate issues affecting the external building envelope at this pharmaceutical building, primarily relating to the roof system, where water ingress was occurring within the newly completed facility. Our role involved carrying out detailed inspections and assessments of the building fabric to identify the source and extent of the defects.
Working alongside specialist partners, AOCA coordinated advanced roof investigations, including spark testing of the roof membrane, to accurately identify areas of failure and potential pathways for water penetration. The investigations identified multiple defects associated with the installation and performance of the roof membrane system.
Following completion of the assessment works, AOCA prepared a comprehensive remediation strategy to address the identified issues. The recommended works enabled the building to achieve the required performance standards, allowing the facility to be successfully completed and operate as originally intended.
